Vintage GAA Clips (Pathé News)

I was brought up on listening to radio broadcasts by the great Mícheál Ó hEithir on RTE radio and even though we had a television, my Dad preferred sitting in the kitchen and listening to ‘the wireless’ for news of the teams he followed.  He loved Dublin, Kilkenny and Shamrock Rovers, and with a young family to take care of, he couldn’t go to the games.

The following clips are from the Pathé newsreels and it is quite funny to watch Gaelic games with a clipped ‘BBC English’ accent doing the commentary.  It makes the SkySports GAA commentary seem quite normal.
